Expert Tips for Tanque Verde Observers

When observing from Saguaro National Park East, try to position yourself facing away from the nearest major light dome. Scientific Context: While local conditions vary, the instrumented reading of Bortle 6 at Mica View (4.1 miles away) remains the benchmark for regional sky quality.

Regional Perspective: If you're traveling from Tucson, the 11.2-mile trip to Tanque Verde is a justified detour for anyone seeking slightly clearer atmospheric 'seeing'.
