Expert Tips for Baltimore Highlands Observers

If you're visiting Soldiers Delight Environmental Area, bring a pack of chemical hand-warmers and rubber-band them to your eyepiece or camera lens. This acts as a 'budget' dew heater, which is essential for the humid nights often found in MD during the peak viewing seasons. Scientific Context: While local conditions vary, the instrumented reading of Bortle 6 at Caboose Farm (53.6 miles away) remains the benchmark for regional sky quality.

Regional Perspective: Observers in Baltimore Highlands often prefer their local clearings over Ferndale for spontaneous stargazing, thanks to a shorter commute into the dark zones.
